Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SnapBite ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Isa Rashvan, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the SnapBite app. We built SnapBite to be a private space for your health journey, and we never sell your personal data.
1. Information you provide
- Account details: your name and email address from Apple or Google when you sign in.
- Profile and goals: information such as age, sex, height, current and target weight, activity level, and your calorie and macro goals.
- Dietary preferences and food restrictions: for example vegan, keto, or allergen restrictions you select.
2. Information you create in the app
- Food logs and the meals you record, including calories and macros.
- Meal and menu photos you scan for nutrition analysis.
- Messages you send to the in-app AI assistant.
- Weight history, water intake, and fasting sessions and history.
- Saved and favorite recipes, and the ingredients you keep in My Kitchen.
- Progress data such as streaks, badges, and ranks.
3. Information collected automatically
To keep the App reliable we may process limited technical information such as app version, device type, and basic diagnostic or crash data. We also record a small number of anonymous, aggregate usage milestones (for example, how many devices reach the subscription screen) that are not linked to your identity. We use this to fix bugs and improve the App, not to build advertising profiles.
4. How we use your information
- To provide core features: logging, scanning, fasting, recipes, and progress tracking.
- To sync your data securely across your devices and back it up to your account.
- To analyze the photos and menus you choose to scan and return nutrition estimates.
- To manage your subscription and premium access.
- To improve the App and respond to your support requests.
5. Who can see your data
Your logs, photos, and progress are stored privately against your account and are visible only to you. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
6. Service providers we rely on
We use trusted third parties to operate SnapBite, and share only what's needed for each to do its job:
- Secure cloud storage and database providers to store your account and your logs.
- Subscription billing providers (including the App Store) to process and verify purchases.
- Nutrition data providers to look up food and menu nutrition information.
- AI providers that analyze the photos and menus you scan to estimate nutrition, and that generate the AI assistant's replies. Images and assistant messages are sent for processing only to generate your results — see the dedicated AI section below.
These providers are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
7. AI features and your consent
Some SnapBite features are generated by AI: meal, food label, ingredient, and menu photo scans, restaurant dish analysis, the in-app assistant, recipe imports (including links shared from other apps), AI cooking steps, and AI recipe generation. These features share data with third-party AI providers only with your explicit permission — we ask before the first use, and nothing is sent if you decline.
- What is sent: only what you submit for a result — the photo you scan, the message you type to the assistant, or the recipe link or text you import — plus basic goal context (such as your first name and calorie target) so answers fit your plan.
- Who receives it: your submission is routed through our secure processing service to the AI providers that generate the result — Google (Gemini), Perplexity, and OpenAI.
- How it is used: solely to generate your result. It is never used for advertising and never sold, and these providers are required to protect your data to a standard equivalent to this policy.
- Your control: you can turn AI data sharing on or off at any time in Settings → AI & Your Data. While off, AI features ask again before use and the share-sheet importer saves links without sending anything.
Your food logs, weight history, insights, and progress reports are computed on your device and synced only to your own private account — they are not shared with AI providers.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active so your history stays available to you. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and content from our systems, except where we're required to retain limited records to comply with legal or billing obligations.
9. Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit your profile, goals, and preferences anytime in Settings.
- You can delete your account and all associated data directly from Settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.
11. Children's privacy
SnapBite is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, including by our service providers. We take steps to ensure your data is protected wherever it is processed.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
